Negra Modelo is a Munich-style dark lager brewed by Grupo Modelo in Mexico City since 1926. Inspired by the rich dunkel lagers brought to Mexico by Central European immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Negra Modelo is crafted with roasted caramel malts and Galena hops, producing a smooth, dark amber beer with notes of caramel, chocolate, and subtle hop bitterness. One of the most respected and widely distributed dark lagers in the world, Negra Modelo offers a sophisticated depth of flavor that sets it apart from typical Mexican lagers.
