Franziskaner Weissbier is one of Bavaria's most beloved wheat beers, brewed in Munich, Germany since the 13th century. The brand takes its name from the Franciscan monks who were once neighbors to the original brewery. Today produced by Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu, part of the AB InBev group, Franziskaner is brewed according to centuries-old Bavarian traditions using top-fermenting yeast to create the classic hefeweizen character — a hazy golden pour with aromas of banana, clove, and fresh wheat. It's a benchmark example of the Bavarian wheat beer style.
