Dos Equis (Spanish for 'Two Xs') is a Mexican lager brand brewed by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma, a subsidiary of Heineken. First brewed in 1897 by German-born brewmaster Wilhelm Hasse in Monterrey, Mexico, Dos Equis was designed to appeal to European immigrants seeking a taste of home in the New World. The brand achieved massive global recognition through its 'Most Interesting Man in the World' advertising campaign. Today, Dos Equis Lager Especial and Dos Equis Ambar are enjoyed worldwide as symbols of Mexican brewing tradition and easy-drinking refreshment.
